Power Only loads require the assignment of a 3rd party trailer. There is also a setting to enable 3rd party trailers for all loads when they are assigned to an asset assignment. This setting must be enabled by an EKA Administrator.
Power Only
When loads have the Power Only service type, when assigning that load to an asset assignment, a modal will open where you enter in the trailer.
Enter in the 3rd party trailer and then click Update & Assign. The trailer assigned to the load will be shown on the load card under the asset assignment.
The trailer can be updated by clicking the button.
Enter in the updated 3rd party trailer and then click the Save button.
When dispatching the load, the 3rd party trailer will also be visible and editable.
In active loads, the trailer will also show in the assigned trailer section of load events. It can also be edited from here by clicking the Edit Trailer button.
3rd Party Trailer Setting
For service types other than Power Only, there is a setting where the option to assign either a 3rd party trailer or a fleet trailer will show when assigning a load to an asset assignment.
The default fleet trailer will be pre-filled into the fleet trailer field. To change to a 3rd party trailer, remove the fleet trailer and then enter in the 3rd party trailer. To change to a different fleet trailer, remove the fleet trailer and then search for another one.
This setting is not enabled by default and will need to be updated by an EKA Administrator. When it’s not enabled, the trailer will be automatically assigned to the default trailer on the asset assignment and can be updated later, but only to a fleet trailer.
When dispatching the load, both the fleet trailer and 3rd party trailer fields will show and the trailer can be changed to either, or updated.
Only one trailer can be assigned to the load at a time.
