The Convert Load function is available in Carrier Operations → Dispatch → Convert Load. There are 3 available options when going to convert a load:
- Trailer Relay: Utilize when a truck / driver asset assignment are being detached from a trailer being used for a load
- Driver Swap: Utilize when only a driver would be swapping to a truck / trailer assignment that is being used for a load
- Multi-leg: This would be utilized when the assignments are not yet determined, but the drop / swap location is known
Trailer Relay
The load being converted will have to be assigned to the initial Asset Assignment first. Once it is assigned, complete the following steps:
- Toggle to Show Assigned Loads
- Select the load to convert
- Click Convert Load
Select Trailer Relay from the options.
A screen will open which requires you to enter a third location for the relay.
Next you will be asked to confirm the relay location point by clicking on the appropriate stop.
The details of each of the loads will be displayed in a preview. Click Next to convert the load.
Assets can then be assigned to the newly converted load. The Trailer will be assigned in the next step, so only a Driver and Truck will need to be selected. If all asset assignments are not known, it is not necessary to assign the assets during this step. After submitting the conversion request, the assets can be assigned to the new load from the Dispatch screen.
Click Next to continue to trailer assignment. The trailer will automatically be assigned as the default trailer of the asset assignment of the first secondary load. To update the trailer for all of the secondary loads, select one of the loads and the trailer, and then click Assign.
Click Submit to submit the conversion request.
Once assets are assigned to all of the loads, the loads will need to be dispatched through the normal dispatch process.
Load tracking and status updates will need to be completed for each load. For the first secondary load, after the load has been picked up, the trailer can be dropped by updating the Trailer Dropped load event or by clicking on the button in the Dispatch tab for the load on the asset assignment side.
After both of the secondary loads are marked as completed and moved to the Delivered Loads tab, the primary load will then move to the Delivered Loads tab. All financial activities including driver payroll / settlement and customer invoicing will need to be completed using the standard process.

If the original load does not have more than two stops, then you will need to add additional stops. A multi-leg load requires at least three stops.
You are not required to select the swap or relay point for a straight multi-leg load. The application will create a separate load for each leg pair.
Assets can be assigned or the conversion can be done without asset assignments. If the original load did have assets assigned when the convert process began, those assets will be assigned to the first secondary load by default. Trailers are assigned separately during the next step.
