To create a new load, navigate to Load Management → Loads → New Load Entry.
Loads can be imported from a csv by clicking the icon. A template is available for download after clicking the icon. Upload the completed csv file and click the Import Loads button.
To create a load manually, click the icon. This will open a modal with select options for the load type.
Click Next to proceed.
New Load Form
The New Load form contains several sections:
- Header
- Load Identification
- Load Locations
- Load Service Details
- Equipment Details
- Load Details
- Load Price
- Capture Strategy
- Carrier Assignment For Load
Required fields are indicated by the icon. Captions in red indicate special instructions or invalid input. The new load may be canceled at any time by clicking the button near the top or bottom of the form.
Header
At the top of the form is the assigned business unit, freight payment method, load importance and currency for the load. A customer representative, salesperson, and primary manager within the business unit may be assigned. Note that a customer must be selected in the Load Identification section before some fields may be modified.
Load Identification
Select a customer and add identification details for the load. To select a customer, start typing in the name and select from the search results. Additional customer load numbers and types can be added by clicking Add Number.
Load Locations
Enter the pickup and delivery information for the load in this section. Locations may be selected using the search box. Additional stops may be added for multi-stop and multi-leg loads by clicking the and buttons within this section. Additional identification numbers and types can be added by clicking Add Number. Additional cargo items can be added by clicking Add Cargo Item.
Load Service Details
Add service details for the load. Different fields and/or options may be available depending on the Service Type.
Equipment Details
Add equipment details for the load. Similar to the previous section, fields and/or options may vary depending on the Truck Type.
Load Details
Use this section to add any additional details for the load. If certain fields are entered, a real time insurance quote will be calculated if enabled.
Click the icon to add products to the load. Up to 16 products can be added.
Load Price
Calculate or enter the price for the load. The Pricing Method field is required and a default can be set by contacting EKA Admin. Some input fields are enabled/disabled depending on the pricing method. To switch the shipper pricing method, select a different option from the Shipper Pricing Method dropdown menu. When All In or Flat Rate pricing methods are selected, the Shipper Negotiated Price will be editable. When the Variable Rate pricing method is selected, the Unit Rate will be editable. Click to view the Price Breakdown. To update the pricing, click the Update Pricing button in the Price Breakdown view. For more information on how fuel surcharge is calculated, refer to this article.
When the pricing method is set to All in, there is a Price Analytics section in the Price Breakdown. Click the to display the implied fuel surcharge and other relevant information used to calculate it.
When the pricing method is set to Variable Rate, the Variable Rate Type can be set to either Miles, Quantity, or Weight. When Quantity or Weight are selected, the Unit Type is editable, as well as the unit amount.
Capture Strategy
Book now prices sets a deal completion price, and the first carrier to Select the Book Now Price would suspend other carrier negotiations for the load.
Carrier Assignment For Load
Click the checkbox to open the carrier assignment section. To select a carrier, start typing in the name and select from the search results.
Confirm and Complete New Load
There are multiple options for creating a new load. Once all required fields have been filled, scroll to the bottom of the form. The available options are as follows:
