Price Assist

The price assist feature displays market pricing data and historical cost data at a lane level to help you source capacity at the best possible price.

The Price Assist feature is available in Available Loads and Carrier Negotiations. Look for the to access the feature.

Price Assist compiles data from several sources:

• Third-party sources:
• DAT: The highest confidence data from DAT will be displayed. DAT subscription is required to utilize this data.
• Additional sources to be added in the future
• Manager Suggested Price (MSP): Managers can set suggested pricing
• Booked Loads (Most Recent): Lists historic load pricing and the carrier associated to the load; if carrier negotiations have been done via the application, details of the negotiations are available

The Price Assist feature is available to Shipper and Carrier Operations roles and will be viewable for all loads prior to a carrier being assigned.

Calculator

Click on the icon to open a price calculator. Use this feature to help calculate an all-in price. Carrier Miles pull from the load and is based on the mileage calculations used for the carrier. This field can be edited if you want to change the mileage within the calculator. Click the Reset button to return all entries to the original values.  

Third Party Data Refresh

Click the circular arrow  to refresh all third party data.

Day Average Slider Bar

Click on the number of days you want to display within the Price Assist view. The slider bar will adjust to the days selected.

Historical Lane Pricing

All active and delivered loads that fall within the Day Average selected will display. The price agreed is shown next to a line indicating where on the pricing scale that transaction lies. The carrier name is also displayed. If price negotiations have occurred, they will appear as you hover over each price. If a price has multiple carriers associated to it, a icon will display next to the price. Click the to expand the view to show all carriers.

MSP - Manager Suggested Price

Users with the Broker Administrator role can set up MSP in the Broker Configurations. Click here for instructions on how to configure MSP.

Third Party Data

Hover over the third party prices to see the details for that rate including price range, number of reports for the lane, number of companies reporting and latest refresh date.

Market News

In addition to the price data described above, the Price Assist module includes links to market news sources. Clicking on these links will open a new tab and take you to an external website.

SONAR 

The SONAR Signals will display, 

To view the details of the SONAR data, click on the Sonar button. There is a fee for each lane of SONAR data that is retrieved which will be included on your monthly bill from EKA.

DAT Outbound Rates

Outbound DAT rates are also displayed. Click on the city name on the map to view the details. This feature requires a subscription to DAT’s pricing tools and credentials will need to be entered in EKA to connect to the integration.
