Assign Trailer With Third Party Carrier

To edit a load and add a trailer, go to Carrier Operations → Load Management → Loads. In the first pickup location, there is a trailer field available. For more information about editing a load, refer to this article.

If the load is not assigned to an asset assignment, a trailer only asset assignment will be created and the load will be assigned to it. To find the assignment and load in Dispatch, set the Equipment Status filter to Loaded Trailers.

A third party carrier can then be assigned to the load. Refer to this for more information on how to manually assign a carrier to a load. The load will move to Active and the trailer can be dropped by using the drop trailer checkbox.

If the trailer is dropped, the trailer detention information will still be maintained upon load delivery.
