.
To add a lane to the contract, click the icon. There are two lane types available. The default option is Point to Point.
The other lane type available is Zone. Select up to 5 origin zones of the same type and up to 5 destination zones to create lanes that cover the different origin and destination combinations.
Different shipper pricing methods are also available. For variable rate, if using the Point to Point lane type, those miles will be used to calculate the total from the unit rate. If using the Zone lane type, only the unit rate will be captured and the mileage from the load will be used when the contract is applied. A lane minimum can also be set in this case which will be used instead of the calculated amount if the lane minimum exceeds the calculated price and it will be applied to the load as a flat rate.
There are also Quantity and Weight variable rate types. For Quantity, enter in the rate, quantity, and label and the price will be calculated as rate times quantity.
For Weight, there are two options: Unit and Tiered. For Unit, enter in the rate, weight, and label and the price will be calculated as rate times weight.
Tiered pricing will match different unit rates to different weights, depending on the weight entered in for the load. If the weight for the load is not within the range, or is not entered, then the contract will not show as an option for the load. The unit label also needs to match the weight label in the load in order to show as an option.
Click Add Tier to add a new tier.
Adding additional tiers will automatically set the minimum weight to the maximum weight of the previous tier plus one.
For flat rate, the price will be captured and when it is applied to a load, the fuel surcharge will be calculated and added to the total.
For all in, the total price will be entered and when it is applied to a load, that value will be used for the shipper price.
Accessorials can also be added to the contract. To add an accessorial, click the next to Accessorials.
These accessorials will be added to the load as shipper accessorials when the contact is applied to the load.
