Go to Operations → Data Management → Customers/Shippers
Begin by clicking the button from the top of the Customer/Shippers page.
At the top of the page you can track the progress of onboarding the shipper by checking the truck icon. With each step in the process the truck will move to the next section title.
The first step is to register the shipper and provide some basic profile information. Make sure to complete all boxes with a as these are required. Invalid entries will display a red caption warning with instructions on how to fix it. To validate any addresses, click the
button and then click the address in the tooltip.
Click Next to continue.
Corporate Profile
It is possible that a lot of the information entered on this page will be the same as previous pages. The first section has the primary contact information.
After the primary user details there is a Contract Contact Details section.
There is a checkbox for the Billing Contact Details to autofill existing information from the Contract Contact section.
Additionally, Operational Contacts can be added by clicking on the icon. A new window will appear in which the details for the contact can be entered. Click Confirm to close this window and continue.
There is also a general notes section where notes can be added to the customer.
Lanes
There are two Miles Calculator options allowing for either manual calculation of loads with Load Dependent or the use of a mileage program.
If the customer/shipper is Available For All Lanes use the checkbox in the bottom left of the box. The type of cargo can also be specified, begin typing into the box and the list of available cargo types will display.
Payment Information and Fuel Surcharge
There are a few options to handle payment for the customer/shipper. First choose the best method of delivery for invoices: email, paper or both. The Paperwork Required has options for BOL (Bill Of Lading), POD (Proof Of Delivery), both BOL and POD, No Docs or Other. Next is the option to set payment deadlines from days from invoice, days from delivery or days from pickup. Untick The Due Upon Receipt box to open the entry form.
An optional customer-specific fuel surcharge can also be set. Select from Cents Per Mile or Percentage of Rate and complete the necessary required fields. When complete, select Submit Onboarding Data.
Status
A message will appear confirming that the onboarding process has been submitted. The Customer will now be ready to be accepted by the Broker Admin. Click the Okay button to return to the Shippers home page.
