Asset Assignment Without Trailer
The standard Asset Assignment process can now be completed without selecting a trailer. Select a Driver and Truck combination and click Save to create the Asset Assignment.
Existing Asset Assignments that include a trailer can be updated to remove the trailer as the default trailer for the Driver and Truck combination. To remove the trailer from an existing asset assignment, open the Asset Assignment to edit, and click on the button next to the assigned trailer. Click Save to remove the Trailer from the Asset Assignment.
Assign Loads to Asset Assignment without Trailer
A load can be assigned to an Asset Assignment that does not have a Trailer.
If Third Party Trailers are part of your portfolio, during the load assignment workflow, a Trailer Assignment modal will open for a Trailer to be assigned. If the Trailer is not know during the load assignment, click Update & Assign and the load will be assigned to the Asset Assignment without a Trailer.
If Third Party Trailers are not part of your portfolio, the load will be immediately assigned to the selected Asset Assignment without a Trailer.
Assign Trailer to a Load
A Trailer can be assigned to a load in the Dispatch screen by clicking into the Assigned Loads. Click on the yellow T to open the Assign Trailer modal.
In the Assign Trailer modal, select the desired Trailer from the list and click Save to assign the Trailer to that load.
A Trailer can also be assigned to the load in the Active Loads screen. An Assigned Trailer section has been added to the Load Events section.
The Assign Trailer modal will open to allow for the Trailer to be assigned to the load.
Assign Trailer During Dispatch
A Trailer can be assigned or the current Trailer assignment changed during the dispatch workflow.
If Third Party Trailers are part of your portfolio, a Fleet Trailer or 3rd Party Trailer can be assigned.
If Third Party Trailers are not part of your portfolio, a Fleet Trailer can be assigned.
Default Trailer / Current Trailer
If a saved Asset Assignment has a Trailer already, a different Trailer can be assigned to any load that is assigned to that Asset Assignment. In the Dispatch view, the Default Trailer (what is saved with the Asset Assignment) and the Current Trailer (what is assigned to the current load) can be seen when hovering over the Trailer column.
Assign Trailer Prior to Delivery
Load events can be entered for loads without a Trailer assignment; however, a Trailer must be assigned prior to the Unloading Complete event being entered to move the load to Delivered Loads. If a Trailer has not been assigned, an error message will be displayed, and the Unloading Complete event date/time will not be saved.

The ability to upload and attach documents to Truck and Trailer assets has been added. This function will work similar to how the documents work with Drivers. Step by step instructions on how to upload and manage Truck and Trailer Documents can be found at this link: Truck and Trailer Documents
